The Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran launched “Operation Promise Truth 4” wave 61 against Israel, causing power outages and casualties in Tel Aviv, in retaliation for the murder of security chief Ali Larijani.

Iran executed its 61st operation wave this Wednesday, March 18, striking over 100 Israeli military and security targets in Tel Aviv. This occurred in retaliation for the assassination of security chief Ali Larijani and ongoing U.S.-Israeli aggressions since February.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran launched the 61st wave of “Operation True Promise 4” impacting over 100 Israeli military and security targets in Tel Aviv. This attack, targeting sites in occupied Palestinian territories, led to basic service interruptions and significant infrastructure damage.

According to the IRGC’s statement, this new wave of the operation focused on Tel Aviv, a major center of Israeli military and security activity. The assault utilized advanced missile systems, including the Khorramshahr-4, Qadr missiles, Emad missiles and Kheybarshkan missiles, highlighting Iranian technological capabilities.

The Iranian communiqué indicated that the attacks were successful against over 100 objectives due to a collapse of Israel’s “Iron Dome” air defense system, which allowed the missiles to reach strategic locations.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps affirmed the operation was conducted in retaliation for the assassination of Iranian Security Chief Ali Larijani. The IRGC detailed that the leader was martyred in a joint United States-Israeli aggression against the country.

Initial reports indicate the attack caused power outages in several Tel Aviv areas, disruptions in emergency and response operations, and an initial toll of over 230 dead and injured. Separately, the Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that two people died in Ramat Gan, in the Tel Aviv district, from the impact on their building following Iran’s missile barrage.

Earlier in the day, the IRGC launched the 58th, 59th, and 60th waves, as part of a broader response to aggression from Washington and Tel Aviv against the military interests of these entities in the region and within occupied Palestine.

Israel had initiated bombings against Iran on February 28th in a joint operation with the United States. During these initial actions, the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with members of his family, the Minister of Defense, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the Chief of the General Staff, were reportedly assassinated.

Among the civilian casualties reported, a particularly tragic incident was the bombing of a primary school in the Minab district, resulting in the deaths of 171 Iranian girls. The Government of Tehran unequivocally condemned this act as an “act of extermination against childhood.” Official Iranian figures, currently indicate more than 1,300 fatalities since the commencement of the attacks, underscoring the severe human cost of the ongoing conflict.

The escalating conflict has also led to increasing paralysis in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global chokepoint for oil transport, further deepening the existing global logistics crisis. Tehran reiterates its firm stance that the military deployment of foreign powers only serves to exacerbate the inherent instability in which occupying forces in the Persian Gulf region are already ensnared.
